Psalm 23:1 THE LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 23:1 (KJV)

THE LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 91 Book

Many times or I would say most of the times in our life we have a needs. Need for money, house, job, good health etc.

Bible says in Psalm 23:1 If we have LORD as our shepherd then I shall not want.
In simple words, we will not lack anything.

Then the question is why we have a need in our life then.

The answer for this is in Matthew 6:33. It says – But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (KJV)

It says – But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

I like when it says all these things. But in order to receive this seeking first, the kingdom of God is important.

Philippians 4:19 says – But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. (KJV)

In Marathi translation, it says from his Treasure. That means God has a Treasure and from His Treasure, He supplies all our need.
Even if we collect all the treasures of the world we cannot reach even 1% of the God’s Treasure.
So just give a thought out of that Treasure our Good Shepard is supplying our need, and because of this it is obvious that “I shall not want”

If we see in 2 Corinthians 9:8 it says “ always having all sufficiency in all things”. In Christ, we have no lack.

3 Important things to remember.

1) Lord is our Shepherd
2) Seek His Kingdom first
3) Trust in His Riches (Treasure)

Prayer

Dear Lord as we come near your throne of grace, as you have mentioned in Psalm 23:1 that you are our Shepherd. We ask you in the mighty name of Jesus, Lord supply our needs and not our wants and help us to seek your kingdom first and trust in your riches.

Birthright

Birthright

What is a birthright?

A particular right of possession or privilege a person has from birth, especially as the eldest son.

Psalm 91 Book

There is a famous story in Indian Mythology about "Little Dhruv" He was the eldest son of King Uttanpada who had two wives Suniti and Suruchi. Dhruv was the son of Suniti who was the first wife and Suruchi had a son named Uttam.

Because Dhruv was elder it was his right to become next King, but his father loved his second wife more than Dhruv’s mother and she convinced King to send Dhruv and her mother away and live in the forest . One day Dhruv went to the palace and he sat on his father’s lap. When Suruchi saw that she pushed him down from his father’s lap and told him that it is not his right to seat there. Little Dhruv came with tears to her mother and explained everything that had happened. Her mother told her if you want a place then pray to God. Soon after that Dhruv went into Forest and started praying. When God appeared him and asked him what is his wish? He said I want a place from where no one can push me down. So God made him Star. This star called the Pole Star or Dhruva Tara is still seen shining in the sky. It is the only star that has a permanent place and does not change its position in the sky. All the other stars and constellations move around it throughout the year.

Travelers look up to the Dhruva Tara in the night to find their way. Why I shared this story with you? Because it was his Birthright to seat on his father's lap and when he prayed to God he got a better position than that. We as a Children of God has a birthright in Christ to shine like the stars in heaven.

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. Daniel 12:3 (KJV)

Prayer: Dear God as little Dhruv prayed and you have given him his place to live. I pray that your Kingdom should come here on this earth and in the ages to come make us Stars which will shine forever and ever. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

What is the whole duty of Man? – Part II

In the last blog, we have seen what it is important to have fear of God. In this blog, we will emphasize over obedience to commandments of God.

Psalm 91 Book

Commandments of God;

Obedience to God is the important thing after the Fear of the God. This is the second most important thing in the whole duty of man. If you have Fear of the God then definitely you will obey his commandments.

God will never ask things to do or he will not request you, rather he gives commandment and as a good sheep, HE expects that we will listen & obey his voice and commandments.

One Single Mistake and Saul Lost his Kingship:

In Bible, we can see these example of Saul who was appointed as the first king of Israel, but just due to disobedience to the commandment of the Lord he lost his kingship.

Though God told Saul to Strike Amalek, and utterly destroy everything (including nursing child)

Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
1Samuel 15:3(KJV)

But instead of that Saul keep King Agag and best of the things

But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good and would not utterly destroy them: but everything that was vile and refuses, that they destroyed utterly.
1 Samuel 15:9 (KJV)

What are the consequences of this?

Because of Saul disobedience, he has to face God anger over his life and as a result of this, he has to lose his kingship just because he fails to attain whole duty of man.

If we look this from saul's perspective, his intention was not bad. He wanted to give God best of the best.

But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal.
1 Samuel 15:21 (KJV)

But what did God has to say about this is a clear instruction to everyone. God is not interested in our sacrifice rather than he is interested in our obedience to HIS commandments.

And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
1 Samuel 15:22(KJV)

After this, we see saul kills King Agag but it is not the remedy. He lost everything because of just one act of disobedience.

What is the conclusion?

Saul got rejected as the King of Israel. Lost his kingship and favor from God because of disobedience to God commandments.

The whole duty of man is to Fear God and Keep His commandments.

Take a decision today to obey the two great Commandments given by our Lord Jesus Christ
1)You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind ( This is the first and great commandment)
2)You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.)
(Matthew 22:37 to 40)

Ask for the Spirit of Obedience to His commandment, and you will see the unseen favor from God over your life.

My Testimony about my name:

I want to share my small testimony here with you. My real name was Sainath which is kept in the name of one of the gods in India Saibaba because my mother was a devotee of Saibaba.

But when we became born again believer. In my spirit, I felt like I should change my name. When I was in Shekinah (Bible course) during the counseling session Apostel Stan from Nigeria did counseling to me. I shared my thought with him about my name. Then he told me even demons has there names and name are the very important thing in Spiritual life. He explained to me how God changed the name of Abram to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah, Jacob to Israel and so on. Then he gave me one book written by him. In this, he has mentioned about all these things. He told me while writing this book (Grand Design )and all this thing I thought someone will be get benefited out of this and I think I wrote this book for you and he gave me this book as a gift.

That night I read the book and I said to God if you really want me to change my name then please tell me. Next morning I got one scripture from Bible saying I will give you a new name (Revelation 2:17).

I got the confirmation, but I said to Lord I want the name in the Marathi Language. So that day I purchased Marathi Bible and in that Bible, I got one scripture i.e.

Romans 12:1
I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Word Sacrifice in Marathi Bible translated as Samarpan. I felt in my Spirit this may be my name and I prayed over it.

Next day morning Pastor Ivone came to preach morning devotion and he was about to preach on Red Sea (Exodus 14), but to my surprise, he said to open book of Romans chapter 12, and while reading this scripture instead of reading sacrifice (Balidan in Hindi) he read Samarpan. I firmly got confirmation this name God wants to give me.

So I changed my name to obey God commandment. What was the benefit of that I saw a radicle change in my personal as well as spiritual life? Now after almost 4 years I see only 200 to 300 people my friends and relatives and they are from India only know me as Sainath. But from all over the world because of my blogs and my messages people know me as Samarpan.

God never asks us to obey a big command but He will ask us to obey small Commandment. As small as watch this video, wear this shirt, go to this place, talk to this person etc. and if we as a humble child of God start obeying his commandment with having fear of God we will see the amazing power of God working in our life just by doing the whole duty of man.

What is the Whole Duty of Man? - Part I

Most of the time we think in our life what is the purpose of my Life?Why I am here on this earth? What is my duty here? What do Bibles say about this?

Psalm 91 Book

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this the whole duty of man.

(Ecclesiastes 12:13) (KJV)

Fear God is the first and the most important duty of man and Why the fear of the God is most important?

And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

Exodus 20:20

One thing is for sure God doesn't hate the sinner but he hates sin. If we have fear of the God then we will not sin and this can lead us to the whole duty of man.

Nowadays we have so many cc tv cameras all over the place. So whenever anyone tries to commit any sin or if they try to steal something they get the fear that they might be caught in cc tv camera.

Same way if we imagine that God's eye is upon us every day then we will be cautious enough to do right things and we will try to be holy because our God is holy.

For I am the Lord your God: ye shall, therefore, sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Leviticus 11:44

Scripture says Fear of God is clean. So this fear can make us clean and if you want to fulfill the whole duty of Man then you should have this.

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. Psalm 19:9

So what is the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments.

What is the benefit of the Fear Of God?

1) In your life, you will not lack anything

O fear the LORD, ye his saints, ye his saints: for there is not want to them that fear him.
Psalm 34:9 (KJV)

2) Fear of God is the starting point for wisdom.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding has all they do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Psalm 111:10 (KJV)

God has Seven Spirit (Isaiah 11:2), but delight is in the Fear of the Lord (Isaiah 11:3).

What can we do to receive the Spirit of the Fear of God?

Ask, and it shall be given you. (Matthew 7:7)

Ask the Spirit of Fear of the LORD today and receive your breakthrough.

This is the whole duty of man
